Finally after 4 years of being pregnant and taking care of little ones while renovating a house and having one of us always co- sleeping with the kids we have finally embarked on a new day! Our house reno’s are done, everyone is in their own rooms and their own beds, including mommy and daddy. So my sweet husband and I are once again able to engage in husband and wife activities, but this comes with some obstacles as we are figuring out. Night time is a no go for us as we are both totally exhausted and all we can think of is sleep, so it falls upon the morning time when the little monsters are eating their breakfast. The twins are still in their highchairs at meal time but our 3 year old is able to run amuck which allows her to bust into our room and ask “what are you doing?”. This is new territory for us parental’s and I have to hand it to hubby for the tactfulness in which he handles it. The first time she came in, he hid me under the blankets, and she gave him his glasses and a book she thought he might like to read because he was in bed resting. The second time she came in it was because her fork had gotten dirty and once again with mommy hidden under blankets he quickly took care of the roaming toddler by wiping off her fork on the bed and sending her on her way content that all was well and normal!

Like I said, it is a new day for us and we have ventured into the realm of husband and wife enjoying each other again while still actively parenting and fending off our two 20 month olds and our 3 year old during those intimate moments.  It is humorous to me that we are trying to sneak around behind our kids and we are making up stories as to why we have to go into the bedroom.  Wow, who would have thought that at 40 I am pulling the same stunts with my toddler to try and sneak off to my room with a boy that I did at 16 with my parents?
